Since I missed Asian Hospital and Medical Center’s RUNEW 2012 which will happen a few hours from now on Alabang, I am now currently focused on Unilab’s Run United 1 2012 which is slated next Sunday, March 4.
RunRio obviously made an effort to stretch their creativity by adding new race routes this year. BGC and MOA race routes have already been memorized by avid runners and this time around, Run United 1’s 21K will feature a BGC-to-MOA race route which will be the first of its kind. The starting line will be placed in front of Riovana at BGC, passing Makati City through Buendia and will end at the back of One eCom Center at SM Mall of Asia complex.
As of Thursday, 21K slots were already sold out but registration are still extended in 500 meters, 3K, 5K and 10K categories until March 2 at Riovana Bonifacio High Street. All of the kits will include a very nice Unilab Run United 1 singlet and race belt.
Another introduction in this year’s Run United Series is their odd shape medals. A pie-shape medal will be given away for Run United 1 and 2 21K finishers and Run United 3 32K finishers to complete a round medal. If you’re just sticking with 21K on Run United 3, you’ll still receive a medal but the color differs from the previous two. This year, they will also stage a 42K event called Run United Philippine Marathon. If you’ll finish 42K, they’ll give you a big donut medal which will make your Run United medals a bigger, round medal. If you’ll settle for the 21K category, you’ll still have a big donut medal but will also have a different shade from the previous ones.
I can imagine how painful it is to miss one piece. 🙂
